fièvre + jones is a design studio based in Los Angeles. Co-founded by partners Alain Fièvre and Victor Jones, fièvre + jones’s work merges formal exploration, experimental collaborative methods, and applied research in residential, civic, and interior projects.
fièvre + jones’s work has been published in Architect Magazine, Domus, Architect’s Newspaper, Architectural Record, RISD inTAR Journal, The Cornell Journal of Architecture, and The New Museum’s New City Reader. The firm has been featured on Madame Architect, on Archinect, and in Architect Magazine. Their work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, Syracuse University School of Architecture, the Boston Society of Architects Space, the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the US Pavilion of the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale, and at Boston's HUBweek.
fièvre + jones’s socially based projects frame questions of environmental equity, belonging, and the right to the city through the lens of infrastructure. Accordingly, the practice targets design opportunities in underserved communities who suffer from either the absence of sufficient infrastructure or whose surroundings are blighted by their domineering presence. fièvre + jones posits infrastructure as a “space-making” device as opposed to one that is “space-taking” to address an escalating set of architectural challenges that are at once environmental and social. Projects include a proposal for art-based support facilities near the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, programmatic amenities for the organization Watts House Project and artist studios/residences at the Tekrema Center for the Arts in New Orleans.
Victor Jones is design principal and founding partner in fièvre + jones. Victor is also Director of the Master of Architecture program and Assistant Professor of Architecture at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. His creative and intellectual work stands at the intersection of architecture, community engagement, and the urban experience.
Alain Fièvre is administrative principal and founding partner in fièvre + jones. Alain is also a software engineer in a Los Angeles based company.
Emanuel Cardenas is a design associate in fièvre + jones. Emanuel received a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University Pomona.
